Dear friends, we are so proud, grateful, and excited to say that we have made our full goal!
Last night our fundraiser reached $19,700 and we’re in the middle of finalizing a donation of $300+ from at least one more group.
We are currently on the road to finish filming- your pledges are filling our gas tank. By August we plan to begin editing what we’ve gathered.
This fundraiser has been such an amazing collective effort. We know that folks who donated have worked hard to pull together the money they pledged. We saw so many of our friends, old and new, consistently championing our project on social media and sharing it with their organizations, friends, and family. We’ve had the support of the amazing artists andrea ene and Ysidro Pergamino. Thirteen businesses and organizations that we share values with became In Association partners on the series. Three podcasts (Belly of the Beast Media, It’s Going Down, and The Final Straw Radio) took time to have us on their shows. So many of you have expressed your encouragement and are ready to make plans to screen it when it’s released.
In the last 45 days, we’ve also more than doubled the number of followers on Instagram and subscribers to our blog.
A few housekeeping items to close this fundraiser out:
- remember that your pledges will be charged from your accounts this week.
- If you pledged $40 or more, email us with you shirt preferences (Sizes: XS-3XL; Colors: Vintage White, Baby Blue, Black) and a mailing address.
- If you’re not already subscribed to our blog and want to hear about our progress, add your email here.
We’re sending you all deep deep appreciation for your support. We love this project and are so in love with the community that is already forming around it. We cannot wait to have it ready for you all to see.
It’s been important to make this project through our values. It’s essential that we find alternative ways to fund grassroots media outside the industry. You all have made this project possible. That’s so powerful.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. All power to the people’s cinema!
